Forged Lemons

Radish1W: Remember, months ago, when I caught your gaze in that crowded mobbish mob scene?
timult_scorn: Is that why you called me here?
Radish1W: Ion! You sphere! Where are you that you are not where you aren't?
timult_scorn: There are multiple responses I could give you.
Radish1W: Well...?
timult_scorn: Less than many, but a tad more than few- and a tad must be measured precisely- is the secret alchemical function of a spot of transfiguration (after a minor duration); here, my boy, you have an ablation!
Radish1W: Could you more or less say that, when we spoke the last time, you were not completely direct in your manner of confronting me?
timult_scorn: I will say only this: My lonely crawl across the dusk of your understanding finds me a fugitive to all things of great tale. Yet I crawl, and for what? For you to ask me 'which knee did I start on?' Here now is the death-stroke to all good graces!
Radish1W: Roots made of mercury and mortar that corrodes from the inside, out! Are these my rank and class?
timult_scorn: There you have it! You must be as you'd have me accuse you.

Greetings and Salutations!

I am East Coast Steff. I am a photographer, foodie and music enthusiast. Quite often you will find me combining two out of the three. Occasionally I doodle, but it's usually nothing fantastic. I also keep a personal blog where I write about all the absurdities in my otherwise droll life. I look forward to adding my contributions to this little corner of the interwebs.

Launching Point

So what is this all about?

We as a group are artists. When I use the term "artist" or "art" I mean more than just painting and drawing. We are painters, photographers, musicians, writers, video artists, etc. This blog is a place for anyone looking for inspiration. We are not here simply to post and brag about our own work. Our goal is to provide a place for people to exchange creative ideas.

This blog was started by a few friends in need of an easy way to communicate and share ideas with other creative people. We want to provide an eclectic view of the word in a safe, constructive, and stimulating environment for people to come together and share... just about anything. Think of us as a digital, collaborative sketchbook. Someone might post a quote, a piece of art they have seen in a gallery, an interesting article they found online, maybe even a picture of a piece of trash they walked by on their way home. Nothing is off limits. We want to stimulate peoples' minds in many ways. Art can come from anywhere or anything.

To get the ball rolling here is a quote from Albert Einstein:

"The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education."

This says a lot about my art education as of now. I did my foundation year of college at the Art Institute of Boston before fate landed me back on the Cape. Although I learned a lot academically in terms of art while I was there, nothing has improved my art (and my way thinking) as much as being around the wonderful, creative minds that I have met back home. It is the drive and the energy that the artist brings to the table that makes art. Just like a musician who is wicked pumped to play his music and projects that energy to the crowd; I push my energy through the brush to the canvas. The energy of the people around me plays a big role in art (even if no one realizes it).
